Christopher Cutler (NSXTRA)

On April 1st, 2024, the NSX community lost a truly inspirational member, but more so, a friend all that knew home. Borrowing from Sheraz Bhutta's well said words, "Christopher impacted every life he walked past during his time in this world. He was very empathetic, understanding, loving, would take the shirt off his back for anyone and had a heart of gold." Efforts are being made to help cover the unexpected cost of a memorial service for Chris. Below is a link to the GoFund me page setup to try and provide him a proper farewell. If you can give, please do.

Special Guest at the 2024 Mideast NSX Meet

Ken Sax

Without Ken Sax's passion for the NSX, it highly likely that our community would look vastly different. Ken Sax has be a fan of the NSX since before the NSX was even a thing! In 1986, Ken Sax put down a deposit at his local Acura dealer for the then rumored $25,000.00 twin-turbo "NSX" that Acura was developing. Six years after taking ownership of his NSX, in 1997, Ken led and personally financed the first NSXPO hosted in Denver, Colorado.

While at the 2024 Mideast NSX Meet, make sure you take some time to meet Ken Sax and learn the full history of the NSX community.

  • 1986 – Placed a deposit with an Acura dealership for the rumored $25,000 twin-turbo NSX.
  • December 1990 – Bought my red/ivory 1991 NSX.
  • October 1992 – Attended the first dealer-sponsored NSX event in North America, at Lindsay Acura in Columbus, Ohio
  • May 1997 – Led (and financed) the first NSXPO, NSXPO ’97, in Denver, Colorado.
  • April 1998 – The NSX Club of America was founded by Dr. David Hwang. Ken Sax was the first treasurer of the organization and continued in that role for ten years.
  • May 1998 – Led NSXPO ’98, in Columbus and Marysville, Ohio.
  • October 2000 – Led NSXPO 2000, in Atlanta, Georgia.
  • October 2001 – Led NSXPO 2001, in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.
  • October 2007 – Led NSXPO 2007, in Columbus, Ohio.

Steve Glover

I’ve come a long way from the above photo taken at NSXPO 2000 in Atlanta. With a robust 6 weeks of ownership under my belt when I attended that first NSXPO, I was amazed at the knowledge and expertise I was surrounded by when I sat in on tech talks given by the likes of Mark Basch, and others. Now, almost 24 years later, and retired from the Navy, I have taken my mechanical engineering degree and nuclear engineering background and applied it to the NSX.

Authoring almost 50 Friday “Tech Tips” uploaded into the NSX OWNERS GROUP on Facebook, the “In the Garage” and “Skill Builder” articles in the “NSX DRIVER” magazine and building a global network of technical and part resources, I hope that one day I may approach the technical expertise of those that influenced me early on in my NSX ownership and can inspire the “next generation” of owners and technical gurus. And I think the “next generation” will be critical to the long-term health and vitality of the NSX community.

When I got my NSX, pop-ups were the only option for headlights and finding a factory-certified, master NSX technician was typically as easy as going to the closest Acura dealership. Now, factory-trained, master NSX technicians at an Acura dealership are the exception instead of the rule. Often, the “NSX technician” at an Acura dealership is just their most senior technician who is handed the factory service manuals and works on 3-4 NSXs a year. Frankly, we’re much more on our own as a community to keep these jewels on the road than ever before.

So, I strongly recommend everyone be active in NSX events as much as possible. Support the NSX MidEast Meet. Make the drive to NSX WestFest. If you can work a trip to the Orlando area in December, experience NSXcapades. Make a summer trip to NSXpedition in the Knoxville area and experience Tail of the Dragon in an NSX. And finally, join NSX Club of America and go to an NSXPO. All of these events – as well as local “meet ups” with fellow NSX owners – allows you an opportunity to “rub shoulders” and talk with other NSX owners. Gleen information. And, most importantly, make those contacts that make the NSX community are true community. At the 2024 NSX MidEast Meet – my first – I’ll probably run into people I first met at NSXPO 2000. That is the strength of the community and what makes owning an NSX special.

2023 NSX Meetup Photographs

At the 2023 Mideast NSX Meetup, we had the priviledge of Sam Evans snapping photos for us. It was one of those great life conincedences where Sam just happened to walk by the hotel when the first two NSX's arrived. Little did he know at the time just how many more would be coming in. With Sam being a car enthusiast himself, the opportunity to snap so many spcial cars was too much to pass up. To our amazing beneift, Sam hung out all weekend and has provided hundred of photos for us. There are two category of pictures below; group photos and individual photos. Sam has graciously DONATED the high resolution group photos, FREE to download. The high resolution individual files are available to purchase through his site. You can see low resolution examples by clicking the link below.

Every year, AJ takes some amazing pictures of our event and he has shared them with us so you can all download them. The link below will open AJ's 2023 Mideast NSX Meetup gallery where you can view and save any photo you like. Also, click the Instagram icon to open AJ's Instagram page and follow him there. Thanks AJ!
